If you wish to have a fully self perpetuating marblerun then the motorised ones give you that option. Currently using a chain drive to return the marbles to the top this particular run features three tracks. A loop the loop track with three separate loops, a spirals track which collects four balls before releasing them into four spirals and a long single track with several elements in. I have begun a new wall mounted sculpture for my workshop which uses bigger 1 3/8" marbles and a helical screw lift, it will have three tracks a llop track a single track with elements and a spiral track with a four ball collection. it is about half way through and progress can be seen below.

I have now finished a new tabletop sculpture which has been motorised. It consists of three racks which pick up with a twin rotating arm. There is a loop the loop, a tall fast spiral and a long track with 's' bends and a tipping arm. They collect through a flat spiral and return to the pick point by passing through the loops of the first track.  This is an inovation I am particularly pround of as I have not seen it done before.
